The Surf Club Project
150 clubs strong
We’re thrilled to announce that over 150 Surf Life Saving Clubs have signed up to get Weathershield exterior paint as part of the Dulux Surf Club Project. That’s half of all surf clubs in Australia.
Tamarama and Chelsea Longbeach were the first to take part in the project which launched on Boxing Day in 2011. Since then clubs from every state in Australia have signed up; from the well-known clubs like Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club in New South Wales, Cottesloe in Western Australia and Glenelg in South Australia to the clubs bracing the cooler waters; Dromana Bay in Victoria and Ulverstone in Tasmania. The project has even stretched to Etty Bay in far north Queensland and Gove Peninsula in the Northern Territory. Byron Bay was the 150th club to sign up to the project.
We’ve been travelling around the country supplying Dulux Weathershield paint to Surf Life Saving Clubs around Australia to protect them from the harsh weather that blows in off the sea. As we’ve been doing this, we’ve noticed how stunning the beach surroundings are, no matter the weather. As a result, we’ve launched the Dulux Surf Club Photo Competition where you can win $1000 for your favourite club by taking a photo of your club in extreme weather conditions or before, during or after its repaint. Winners will also receive $250 for their own back pocket.
