Congratulations to Scott McKenzie from Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club who has won the August prize in our Surf Club Photo Competition.

Scott is the Vice President of  the Port Campbell SLSC and has been a member for over 20 years, so he knows the club well! We have no doubt that the $1000 Scott has won for his club will be put to good use. Scott will also receive $250 for himself.

The winning photo (pictured to the left) captures the fierce winds and rough surf that batters the Port Campbell coastline. We were impressed with contrast shown in Scott’s photo: the club, trees and sky seem almost the same dull, murky colour while the light dances across the tumultuous seas in the foreground. Scott describes himself as a ‘budding amateur’ photographer and said he was ‘in the right place at the right time’ when he took the winning shot.

We continue to be amazed at the high quality of entries that have been submitted to the competition so far. There are three more prizes to be awarded over the next three months, so if you haven’t entered yet you still have a chance to win. If you have already submitted your photos in previous months, you will automatically be included for future judging and eligible for all prizes.
