Take a photo of a beach at sunset and you’re pretty much guaranteed a great shot. Josh Fisher is a man who knows this. However, the photo Josh took of Mullaloo Surf Life Saving Club takes sunset photos to a whole new level.

We’ve decided to award Josh with the September prize in the Dulux Surf Club Photo Competition.  He will take home $250 for himself and $1000 for the Mullaloo SLSC, where he has been a member for five years.

Josh said he always wanted to take a shot of the club that included the beach, water and sunset with a slow shutter speed. “I had just imagined it would turn out to be a good photo and I think that I achieved that.” We think you did too, Josh.

We love the warm glow emitting from the club rooms and the brilliant mix of blues and pinks in the sky. You can just make out the tiny sun in the middle of the photo; it almost seems insignificant, yet it’s the source of the great shadows cast across the sand and water.

We continue to be impressed with the quality of entries that have been submitted to the competition so far. There are two more prizes to be awarded over the next couple of months, so if you haven’t entered yet you still have a chance to win. If you’ve already submitted your photos in previous months, you will automatically be included for future judging and eligible for all prizes.
