Whyalla SLSC

Whyalla SLSC completely transforms

Blue swimmer crabs scuttle along the sand at low tide on Whyalla beach while locals and tourists take to the water on fishing boats and windsurfers. Whyalla Surf Life Saving Club sits on the foreshore of this beautiful part of South Australia, however in recent years the exterior of the club hasn’t lived up to the beauty of its surroundings. But it’s nothing some cement rendering and a new coat of paint couldn’t fix.

Whyalla is often touted as the place where the outback meets the sea. The new colour scheme chosen as part of the Dulux Surf Club Project reflects this. The upper level of the club was painted in a deep maroon, which echoes the red sand and dust of the outback.

Grey trims and a warm neutral colour balance the boldness of the maroon, and modernise the whole building.

What an amazing transformation. Is it possible to get an after shot from the same side as the before shot? It would give us a better appreciation of how well it went. Congratulations to Dulux on this excellent initiative. I doubt that any other company would have come up with such an idea.
